Honoring The Men In Blue

Annunciation Church held their eighth annual Veteran's Day tribute to all the men and women who protect us. Dubbed the "Blue Mass" in honor of the most visible of that group, police officers, the event is celebrated on Veteran's Day each year.
The street in front of the church was linned with Police Cruisers, fire truck and ambulances as police, military, firemen, paramedics, and their families attended the tribute.
Following the service, the honorees and their families were treated to a Sunday Brunch at the Parish Center next door to the church.
The group was led in procession form from the church to the Parish Center by a group of Pipers recruited specifically for the event by the Ancient Order of Hibernians whose local chapter is named in honor of the first Williamsport Police Officer to loose his life in the performance of his duties, John Patrick Maloney.
The Hibernians, the local FOP and the City also observe the officer's passing each year with a special service at Annunciation and at his grave site in Wildwood Cemetary.
